After reading some other blogs with similar subjects, I want to show everyone my Barbie Dolls from when I was a little girl.
I think my mother bought me this Brunette Mod Twist-N-Turn Barbie around 1968.
I bought this "PJ" doll myself in 1970 with money I saved in a "piggy bank" that I won in a coloring contest at school.
(Scusatemi, ma no lo so dire tutto in italiano ???)
This is my original case with the clothes. My mother sewed some of the clothes for me.

ReplyDeleteCiao,felice weekend!
Oh, Dear Lorraine.
ReplyDeleteHow LOVELY your collections are♡♡♡
I respect you that you still treasure these cute girls.
Blessing to you, xoxo Orchid*
How I laughed, Lorraine, when I came here and saw this! You are like me, I still have my first Barbie doll! I was born in the late 50's though, so I have the Barbie with the short blonde hair. Believe it or not, my 21 year old son found my box of dolls recently and held that Barbie up. She looks like she's been through the war, looks like she had a hard life. She looks like a trampy Barbie. (Well, I DID have a Ken doll too...) I also had that same 'wardrobe' thing you had! I do NOT have mine, don't know WHAT happened to it, so you are lucky to still have yours. I think I also had a 'twist and turn' Barbie and I had that cousin too, I forget her name... I didn't have a PJ doll though. I don't remember her. She probably came later, by the time I was in love with David Cassidy. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post, you brought back good memories. I LOVE posts like that. :)
Best,
Gloria
P.S. I just remembered the cousin!! It was FRANCIE!! Sadly, I don't think I have her anymore. I'll have to look in that box my son found, but I don't think I have her... Maybe she ran off with Ken when she reached 18...
ReplyDeleteNo wonder my Barbie looks haggard...
:)

ReplyDeleteHUGS Lorraine
Dearest Lorraine,
ReplyDeleteJust noticed that your Dad was about one year younger than my Mom... Sorry to see he has left you last year. That hurts, one is always close to gli genitori e per sempre anch'adesso.
Barbie dolls I've never had. Fun collection you got to share here!
About our possum. It is still living (I hope!) in our wood garden. Enough space for lots of animals and we got a certificate for Backyard Wildlife Habitat in 1997. I had NEVER seen one upclose like this one. I raced up the stairs to get my camera. I didn't know yet that they have 50 teeth. But if you don't scare them, why would they attack? Shocking to read that their life span is but 2 years. They have babies and die... sad ending for such a short life.
Guess this one came through the cat door or maybe earlier through the open door and hid under the car inside the garage? I let it out and I've not seen it again as they are nocturnal.
Love to you and stay well and warm!
Mariette
It's wonderful !!!!
ciao bellissima. t.v.b.
Very nice! I used to have one, too. I gave it to my daughter when she was young and now her daughter plays with it. I remember hours of fun playing with her, making clothes for her and decorating "homes" for her.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
ciao
ReplyDeleteche belle.
You are the Best Lorraine!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving
